John Wick (Owner)
John Wick is a role-playing game designer best known for his creative contributions to the Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) properties Legend of the Five Rings and 7th Sea. He self-published Orkworld under the Wicked Press banner, and later co-founded the Wicked Dead Brewing Company with Jared Sorensen. His games under that company include Cat, Schauermärchen, Enemy Gods, and Thirty. He has won the Origins Award for Best Role-Playing Game and Best Collectible Card Game twice (for both the Legend of the Five Rings and 7th Sea role-playing games and collectible card games).
Mark Diaz Truman (Owner)
Mark Diaz Truman is an owner of John Wick Presents. In addition to his work as a co-owner of Magpie Games, Mark has worked with John Wick to produce Wicked Fantasy, Wield, Play Dirty 2, Curse of the Yellow Sign, and more. Mark served as the project manager for the 7th Sea: Second Edition Kickstarter and continues to help develop 7th Sea titles for JWP.
Leonard Balsera (CEO and Creative Director)
Leonard Balsera is the CEO and Creative Director of John Wick Presents. He is best known for his design and development work on Evil Hat Productions’ various Fate system games, such as the award-winning Dresden Files RPG, but has worked across the breadth of the industry, with credits from Pelgrane Press, Fantasy Flight Games, Green Ronin, Margaret Weis Productions, Onyx Path Publishing, Steve Jackson Games, and many others. When he isn’t eating, breathing, and sleeping hobby games, he spoils his cats rotten, reads voraciously, performs on stage occasionally, and plays a lot of video games. He lives at the intersection of memory and dream, but his physical body resides in Austin, Texas.
Melissa Lewis-Gentry (Marketing and Sales Director)
Melissa Lewis-Gentry is the Marketing and Sales Director for John Wick Presents. For the last several years, she ran a brick and mortar comic and game store Modern Myths in Western MA. You might have seen her selling RPGs at conventions in coordination with Indie Press Revolution. Other than her decades long passion for RPGs, Melissa’s an avid board game player and is passionate about innovative game design that pushes new boundaries. She lives in Western MA with her cat, who is a jerk, and her partner, who is not a jerk.
Eloy Lasanta (Financial Manager)
Eloy Lasanta is a writer, publisher, gamer and the founder of Third Eye Games. His three kids and awesome wife keep him happy, and there is always fun to be had. He likes to talk a LOT. Eloy has joined the team as JWP’s Financial Manager and his expertise is a welcome addition to the many projects we’ve got in store!
Danielle Lauzon (Line Developer)
Danielle Lauzon is a game designer, writer, developer, gamer, and larper living in Houston, TX with her two dogs, two cats, and one husband. She currently works for John Wick Presents as the larp developer, and is working to bring 7th Sea Second Edition to life as a larp. Her company, Imaginary Audience, specializes in writing and running all things larp. When she isn’t writing, developing, designing, or otherwise occupied in getting games organized, she is playing games instead.
Mike Curry (Lead System Designer)
Mike Curry is the systems lead for 7th Sea: Second Edition. An avid roleplayer and Game Master for the better part of two decades, with experience in everything from Dungeons & Dragons to Dogs in the Vineyard. Michael has a love of RPGs that, like so many others, started in his teens and continues to this day. He was a host for the Bear Swarm! Podcast for nearly five years. He was born in the south, and lives in the Midwest.
Monte Lin (Production Manager)
Monte Lin is a writer, editor, game designer, and first reader for Strange Horizons magazine. Previous tabletop work includes Fantasy Flight’s Star Wars, Wyrd Miniatures, Fate of the Remnants. Previous mobile game work includes EA, abitlucky, and Zynga. Monte’s already done excellent work as a copy editor for JWP, and we’re looking forward to following Monte’s lead on the production side!
Hannah Shaffer (Web and Digital Projects Manager)
Hannah Shaffer is a game and web designer, and the Digital Projects leads for JWP. Hannah is a co-owner of Make Big Things, a tabletop cooperative responsible for Questlandia, 14 Days, Noirlandia, Damn the Man, Save the Music, and the upcoming board game, Good Dog, Bad Zombie. Hannah is co-host of Design Doc, an experimental podcast about the journey of analog game design.
Thomas Deeny (Layout and Graphic Designer)
Thomas Deeny is the graphic designer for 7th Sea: Second edition. His layout and design work can be found in roleplaying games such as Growling Door Games’ Chill, Dead Gentlemen’s Demon Hunters, Margaret Weis Productions Firefly line, and Atlas Games’ upcoming Unknown Armies.
