Through the strange and arcane back channels of Facebook, I have been informed that Arthur Ruez (pronounced rooz)–the man who introduced me to philosophy when I was in college–passed away recently. He was also the sponsor of the Chess and Gaming Club. He was a philosopher, a gamer and a gentleman.
He designed and ran his own roleplaying game–something most of us would call a "fantasy heartbreaker" these days.
He was funny, irreverent and genuinely wicked. He probably doesn’t even remember me, but I’m sad he’s gone.
